Pre-Review Check

Once the manuscript is received, eiRxiv performs a pre-review check. The purpose of this check is to ensure:

  • The manuscript is clear and organized
  • The manuscript meets all of our guidelines (link to “Submission Guidelines”) and uses our template (linked PDF)
  • The manuscript is original – it hasn’t been plagiarized, and has not been submitted for publication anywhere else
  • The research is scientific and meets our hypothesis requirement (link to hypothesis requirements)
  • The data is accurate and has been described without bias
  • All necessary supporting forms have been submitted for research using human or animal subjects (link to Human/Vertebrate Research)
  • The topic is within our reviewers’ scientific expertise
  • The manuscript’s content does not pose a danger to individual or public health (link to Emerging Public Health)

If the manuscript does not meet these requirements at any point during the submission or posting process, eiRxiv will send the manuscript back to the authors. eiRxiv may either reject the manuscript, or may request revisions from the authors. Kindly note that completing the requested revisions does not guarantee the manuscript will be posted.
