Once a manuscript passes the pre-review check and all forms are signed, it’s time for the exciting part: Posting the manuscript on eiRxiv!

When a manuscript is posted on eiRxiv:

• It becomes publicly available for anyone in the world to read.

• Each manuscript will receive a unique DOI (Digital Object Identifier). This makes it easier for readers to find, cite, and share the research. A DOI is a permanent identifier, meaning the research will have a lasting place in the scientific record. 

• The posting date will let readers know when the authors first posted the preprint. 

• The manuscript will be sent to one of our scientific reviewers. After a few weeks, their personalized feedback will be posted alongside your manuscript at the same DOI. 

Once a manuscript and its feedback are posted, they will stay online as part of the permanent scientific record. Because of this, it’s important to make sure your preprint is accurate, complete, and represents your research clearly. 

However, your manuscript doesn’t have to be perfect or fully polished. Learning from feedback and improving your future science communications are one of the reasons preprints have become so popular for professional scientists!
